In this good-to-go section, the boards you see are completed and waiting for a new home! There's no wait while they are made, finished, and dried. You will get the actual board you see in the picture. Just place your order and in most states, in two to three days your board will arrive by USPS Priority Mail. Orders placed early in the day may get to go out the same day. The rest will usually go out the next working day. Please read the description and check the photo carefully - some of these are experimental or with slightly different features than our regular boards.
The Tortoise and Hare is a novel, non-linear board. It's continuous, spiral course is the full 121 holes but that's where normality ends. The holes for one player start off close together then stretch out. They take off really slowly, like a tortoise, sometimes a lap or two behind, then catch up really fast at the end. Of course their opponent has the opposite experience. They take off like a hare, really fast and are soon laps ahead. But towards the end, they hardly move at all. In fact, it's designed to be hard to see who is winning at all, changing the bragging dynamic of the game completely. Need something unique you can guarantee they don't aready own? This two-track tortoise & hare maple board comes as standard with eight metal pegs, four in brass and black. The pegs live inside a pocket in the back of the board, held securely by a sliding brass plate. The top four edges have a generous chamfer adding to the style of the board. After sanding smooth, this board has been brushed with shellac.
