Thanks for looking at our cribbage boards.

We try to use good quality materials and pride ourselves in our work. Sometimes things are not perfect - we produce each item individually - and we hope that you see these as part of the hand-made character of the piece.

Natural Variations and Characteristics of Wood

Like fingerprints, characteristic differences in color and grain are produced by nature in every tree. These variations are what created the beauty and interest found in the wood. The variations in knot placement, color, grain, density, and texture will cause variation in the finished product, even though finishing processes are carefully applied. These variations are considered a natural characteristic of wood and are not a defect. We hope that you will appreciate and enjoy this beauty.  Wood also responds to changes in the environment, such as temperature, humidity, light, and such. Wood can warp, twist, cup, bow, split, crack and change in other ways - this is a natural process and we are not responsible for such changes once we have shipped your board.

Changes During the Creative Process

Sometimes while making a board, we vary the specifications.  We make variations to the dimensions, the engraving depth, the layout, coatings, paint, and other details as part of the creative process.  This can be for aesthetic reasons and also sometimes because of a characteristic of the wood.  Certain grain patterns and natural characteristics only become apparent as the work progresses and we reserve the right to adjust the designs as we see fit.  Our objective is always to produce the best product for you that follows your requests, yet reflects the unpredictable nature of fine woodworking.

If a board presents difficulties beyond our expectations, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund your money in full at any time during the process.

Refunds and Exchanges

Items broken during transit will be replaced.  After 14 days from the recorded date of delivery, all sales are deemed final.

Any refunds will be made minus costs incurred by us, including, but not limited to, payment processing fees, administration work, design and artwork, shipping, etc.

Standard Boards

If you are not happy with a standard board after it arrives, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will provide a refund of the original purchase price, upon its safe return to us for orders shipped within the US.

For orders shipped outside of the US, we will provide a refund of the price of the board only.

Custom and Engraved Items

Custom and engraved items are not refundable. As you would guess, we cannot resell a cribbage board featuring the words "From Pooky to Big Dan!"

As we work through the creative process, we will provide you with a final mock-up by email. We will not proceed until you have approved the design, at which time the sale becomes final and nonrefundable.

It is your responsibility, as the customer, to check the final mock-up for errors, omissions, and other issues.  We are not responsible for any costs to correct any issues not brought to our attention before manufacture.

Indemnification:

The customer will indemnify and hold harmless The Cribbage Guy, LLC., from any and all loss, cost expense, and damages on any and all manner of claims, demands, actions and proceedings that may be instituted on the grounds alleging that: (a) the design violates any copyright or any proprietary right of any person; or (b) any other material breach of an obligation by customer arising out of this Agreement; or (c) any violation of an applicable rule, regulation, statute or law by customer.

Production Time and Delivery Dates

We make all our boards from scratch, and most to order, which can take quite a while, depending on factors such as how busy we are and the complexity of the board you have ordered.  Unless we have promised a particular completion date, you agree to accept our schedule of work. 

We are always happy to give estimates as to completion dates.  Where we have promised a particular delivery date, we will do our best to ship your board early enough such that the shipping method chosen should get it to you in time. This is based on the online quotes on transit times provided to us by the shipper concerned.  We can accept no liability whatsoever for delays that occur within the shipping process once the board leaves our control.

International Shipping

We ship internationally only on the understanding that you are responsible for any duties, taxes, and fees added after shipping.  This may include, but is not limited to, custom duties, VAT, GST, and other official fees.

Payment

Payment in full is due before any work is started.

Orders placed by check or money order will be "Pending" until the item clears, which may be several days after it arrives. Custom work, engraving or other personalization will not begin until the order is marked "Approved".

If for any reason, money is outstanding when your board or pegs are mailed out, we reserve the right to add reasonable collection charges to your invoice if timely payment is not made.
